It is a true lighthouse planted at the top of a gigantic rocky spur that has watched over the Baux valley for centuries. From its gaunt grey stone silhouette, eaten away by time, one can imagine its past grandeur and power. The castle of Les Baux-de-Provence is indeed a major building; an emblematic place from which one dominates the plain, as far as the eye can see.
