As its name suggests, La Penne-sur-Huveaune is cut in two by the Huveaune, precisely from east to west. A river of nearly 50 kilometers which then flows into the Mediterranean Sea. The history of the town goes back more than 2,000 years, like its big sister Marseille. There is a Roman vestige, the Pennelus, dating from the end of the 1st century BC, whose function has not been precisely determined: tomb or mausoleum... A mystery! Sometimes simply called Penne, the city also allows the practice of hiking with several small massifs whose highest point culminates at 404 m (Candolle)
