Built on the southern foothills of the Alpilles, the village of Aureille overlooks the Crau plain. The ruins of the feudal castle still seem to guard the access to the village, a vestige of this ancient stronghold of the Arles revolution until its submission to the Counts of Provence. You can also admire the many old buildings such as the old church from the 11th century, its oratories, its Roman ruins and its old houses. Far enough away from the big tourist flows, the village keeps the authentic air of a Provencal village. Calm and serenity still reign here for the greatest pleasure of those who know how to get off the beaten track.
