Museum of History of the city of Aix-en-Provence installed in a 17th century mansion, various collections presented.
In 1932, the city's history museum was created in a 17th century town house. Among other things, it features a majestic iron staircase and colourful decorations. The collections, built up from donations made by the museum's founder, Marie d'Estienne de Saint-Jean, evoke Aix's past. Furniture, earthenware, santons, objects of companionship, talking crib puppets are to be discovered. Another element of the museum to appreciate is a modello by Gaulli, a model of his project for the baptistery of Saint Peter's in Rome.
