Due to the coronavirus crisis, maritime links between the port of Nice and Corsica have been suspended since last March. But the good news is that crossings will be able to resume from the first week of July, with ferry frequencies and schedules adjusted to limit greenhouse gas emissions. This is the wish of Christian Estrosi, in agreement with the CEO of Corsica Ferries, Pierre Mattei. The two men are working together to make Nice a "Green Stopover", and to this end at the beginning of the year they introduced the use of 0.1% sulphur fuel for ferries berthing in the city port. They henceforth wish to preserve the health and quality of life of the inhabitants of the port, by introducing more entertainment programmes for the benefit of the port businesses, as well as by limiting the number of vehicles and by promoting pedestrian crossings.
