Lantuscia, as it was called in the 12th century, perched on a promontory just above the course of the Vésubie river, is undoubtedly located at the junction of several tectonic plates. This is why this village has paid a heavy price to earthquakes in the course of its history: in 1494, in 1556, in 1566, in 1618, in 1644 and in 1887, during the last great earthquake which shook the whole region from Nice to Genoa. But the great beauty of the site and the very endearing character of this village have meant that its inhabitants have never deserted it. And it is not recent history, with the Alex storm, which will say the opposite
