Colomars was founded in 1070 and was first a dependency of Aspremont from which it was separated in 1874. Between the 1850s and 1920s, a population of Piedmontese origin came to settle there, bringing with it its cultural and gastronomic heritage. The village is perched on a hill at 450 meters above sea level, in the middle of a wooded environment, mainly covered by pines, broom, olive groves and a few vineyards, offering a relaxing environment and a magnificent view. The famous vineyard of Bellet wines is nearby. Because of its location, it has the advantage of being close to Nice and many of its inhabitants work there.
