On the banks of the Bès river, which rises from the surrounding high mountains, on a vast plateau nestled at an altitude of more than 1,000 m, Le Vernet enjoys an exceptional climate, with the sun shining more than 300 days a year! The mountain plants are particularly well acclimatised along a botanical path where some rare species such as the Bérard thistle or the white-margined primrose grow. A walk through this peaceful village is a must to enjoy the fresh air. Beautiful views, pretty facades, a wooden fountain and a small church with a Romanesque bell tower complete this idyllic picture.
