The Val d'Allos 1400 is built around the old village of Allos. This is where the town hall and the tourist office are located as well as the post office and most of the year-round resident population. It is, as its name suggests, situated at an altitude of around 1,400 metres. 200 m south of the village is the church of Notre-Dame-de-Valvert, classified as a historical monument in 1846. This Romanesque chapel dating from the 13th century (with remains from the 9th and 10th centuries) is located at the confluence of the Chadoulin and Verdon rivers. Like all the churches of alpine style, only the south wall is pierced with three bays
