On the border between the Indre and Indre-et-Loire departments, Vicq was a strategic point of passage, with fording rights and tolls. Overlooking the river, the Romanesque-style church of Saint-Léger, built in the late 12th century, boasts two beautiful fonts and a gilded wooden altarpiece. Château de la Brosse features a 15th-century circular tower and a dwelling that was remodeled and enlarged in the 17th and 18th centuries. Just outside the village, on the banks of the Gartempe, Villa des Iles (private) was built in 1906 in the Art Nouveau style and is well worth a visit. For gourmets, many local producers open their doors in the vicinity.
