Ternay, located 12 km from Loudun, is part of the Communauté de communes du Pays Loudunais. This village was once entirely troglodyte, with the only visible buildings, from the 15th century, being the church and the château de Beauvau, which has been part of the inventory of historical monuments since 1994. For lovers of old stones, it is important to note that Ternay has the only menhir in the north of Poitou, the menhir of Courçu. Made of red stone, it was registered as a historical monument in 1957. The village also has a gardening museum, nestled in the garden of the Tilleul: there are sculptures and old machines
