This village is the most northerly in the Vienne, just below the Maine-et-Loire department. Another particularity: Saix is located on the Greenwich meridian. There are also three castles: the castle of Pas le Loup, the castle of Eternes and the remains of the castle of Saix. The church and the chapel of Sainte-Radegonde are part of the legend of the "Miracle of the Oats". The vineyards surrounding Saix are entitled to the AOC Saumur appellation
