Located between the Clain valley and the Moulière forest, 15 km from Poitiers, the town of Saint-Georges-Lès-Baillargeaux takes its name from the word "baillarge", spring barley brought back by Charlemagne. You will visit many historical and religious buildings. The dolmen of Aillé and the dolmen of la Roche aux Oies, testimonies of the occupation of the land by man during the Neolithic period. Also to be seen, the Saint-Georges church of Romanesque style, conceived from a Latin cross plan. Another monument to see is the castle of Vayres dating from the 16th and 17th centuries. Framed by two medieval round towers with the largest dovecote in France!
