A very popular and almost secret place offers a good traditional cuisine on the waterfront.

On sunny days, it is one of the most bucolic places in the city. This Garden of Eden offers a setting that one would never suspect. Every year, we watch for its opening date. At the beginning of the ^20th century, the Jouteau baths were a very popular place for swimmers and locals who came to dance at the guinguette. Today, the name has remained and the restaurant of professional insertion proposes a traditional home cooking, based on fresh products, and welcomes you at the edge of the water. A nice moment to spend, the time of a meal or a lemonade.

Opening time and information on L'ÎLE JOUTEAU

Open only from May to October. Open Tuesday to Thursday from 11:30 am to 11:30 pm; Friday from 11:30 am to 12 am; Saturday from 3 pm to 12 am; Sunday from 11:30 am to 7 pm. Reservation recommended. Card : about 19 €. Vacation vouchers, Restaurant vouchers. Groups welcome. Terrace. Boat rental (from 7,50 € for 30 minutes to 30 € for 2 hours). Musical animations.

Owner's Message

L'Ile Jouteau is a riverside restaurant located a stone's throw from downtown Poitiers. The restaurant proposes to have lunch in the middle of the trees and in a bucolic setting. The establishment has wooden terraces, lounges, deckchairs and other hammocks to welcome you at the time of the meal, for a shaded nap or for the aperitif. On the spot, you can also enjoy an ice cream, a good home-made tea or cocktails. You can also rent a boat and discover the river Clain. Moreover, the place has natural swimming pools arranged by the Jouteau brothers. You can also privatize a part of the site for your events.

Cadre super agréable, l'ombre sur la terrasse et l'eau à proximité sont vraiment appréciable un jour de canicule. Le service et la cuisine sont très bien, nous avons tout apprécié. Seul petit bémol : l'assiette de fromage, trois morceaux de chèvre et des tranchettes de fromages à burger entassés, décevant.
Je vous conseille tout de même ce restaurant.

Très bien, coin ombragé ambiance détente avec petit concert et il y a la possibilité de naviguer sur le clain.
MAJ 11/06/23 : autant pour boire un verre c'est top, autant pour dîner c'est une autre histoire... Plats peu copieux et cuisine peu recherchée.

Nous sommes assis à table depuis 1h54… On nous a servis l apéro mais depuis nous attendons encore nos plats… bien dommage… heureusement que le cadre est beau ! Dans 5 minutes nous quitterons la table si nous ne sommes pas servis
