This small village in the Montmorillonnais region is crossed by the river Blourde, a tributary of the Vienne. The human presence on its territory is attested since prehistoric times with the dolmen of Chiroux, classified as a historical monument in 1986. Several buildings are worth seeing in Plaisance: the château de l'Age with its moat and its presbytery dating from the 17th century, but also - and above all - the remarkable church of Notre-Dame, built in the 13th century and classified as a historical monument in 1920. Near Plaisance is the Regional Natural Park, in the Indre, famous for its numerous artificial ponds.
