Nieuil-l'Espoir offers a pleasant setting only 15 km southeast of Poitiers. The village was especially known for its sword factory whose forges were installed on the banks of the Miosson. Along the river, the wetland has been developed, including a 7,000 m² pond for fishing. The site also includes an area for camping-cars, games for children and an educational trail around the local fauna and flora with a nice kiosk. Nearby, there is the community swimming pool, as well as the media library and its exhibition room. The square, lined with plane trees, is the charm of the village center
