Mouterre-Silly has a particularly rich heritage with several castles spread over the territory. The green sandstone quarries were used in the construction of the fortifications of Loudun in the 13th century. You will also discover the Romanesque church of Notre-Dame de Chasseignes dating from the 12th century and registered in the inventory of historical monuments since 1926. To notice: its atypical south-east/north-west orientation probably due to its construction on the site of an ancient monument. Its interest also lies in the addition of Gothic and classical styles. Major renovation work was carried out from 2016 to 2019.
