On the left bank of the Clain, Iteuil is home to a number of private châteaux. Château d'Aigne (named after the river) is a fortified castle dating from 1442, built on the site of a Roman villa. Its 17th-century portal is listed as a Monument Historique. There's also the 15th-century Manoir de Bernay and its chapel, the mid-16th-century Château de la Gruzalière, and the 19th-century Château de la Troussaye and Manoir des Genèbres. There are several washhouses to visit, including the Mougon washhouse dating back to Roman times. The local lake is ideal for relaxation and fishing. Picnic tables are available along the river Clain.
