Chalandray is a village in the Community of Communes of Haut-Poitou, 30 km from Poitiers and 20 km from Parthenay. It has a beautiful historical heritage: the Romanesque chapel of Cramard, the castle of la Bretonnière, the castle of Tréguel, which dates from the 19th century, and the castle of la Motte, classified as a historical monument since 1995 for its chimney and its staircase. Chalandray also has mills, wash houses and wells on the banks of the Vendelogne. Today, the village is known for its craftsmanship, especially in gastronomy. Finally, a particular fact: Chalandray is crossed by the Greenwich meridian!
