A peaceful and rural commune of 600 inhabitants, Angliers is worth a visit for its imposing castle dating from the 18th century. The commune is also located on the edge of the Scévolles forest, a 4,000 ha forest massif. Its name recalls Scévole de Sainte-Marthe, a 16th century poet from Loudun. This forest is a refuge for many animals, including deer, foxes, wild boars ... A beautiful path crosses this massif, starting from the pond of Guesnes. In Chalais, the Puy d'Ardanne mill has been dominating the Briande valley from the top of its hill for almost 300 years.
