The commune of Pompaire has only about 2,000 inhabitants. However, it has various craft, commercial and school activities... but is not very rich in heritage. Among these, we can mention, in religious heritage, the church of Saint-Pierre, the calvaries of Gravelotte and Ormeau or the cross of Hosmière. There is also an eco-museum at the Maison du Patrimoine in the centre of the village. It exhibits an interesting collection of agricultural machinery from the 19th and early 20th centuries, and also various domestic objects that are no longer in use today. It also reveals an important photographic collection on the theme of municipal history. Finally, a former fortified residence, the dwelling of Chaumusson, is visible from the outside only, as it is currently private property.
