Fans of wildlife documentaries should make a stopover in Ménigoute, home of the International Ornithological Film Festival since 1985. The village of 850 souls is also home to IFFCAM, Europe's only training institute for nature photography and sound recording. Nestled in a well-preserved environment, Ménigoute boasts a number of sites of particular interest: the Gothic-style Boucard chapel, the 14th-16th-century Château Boucard and its Raoul-Royer museum of rural arts and traditions, and the former collegiate church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste (1322). The ruins of the Cistercian abbey of Les Châtelliers are not open to visitors.
