Take a stroll through Bernardswiller, a village of 1,400 inhabitants nestled at the foot of Mont Sainte-Odile in the Vosges foothills (not to be confused with Bernardsvillé, in the canton of Barr). Welcome to a village brimming with old stones, austere witnesses to its intriguing medieval past. The Gothic church was built in 1866-1867 on the site of a 15th-century chapel. Its winding lanes and bucolic courtyards tell stories of intertwined stones and vines to attentive visitors. The coats of arms on the porte cochere are reminders of the village's rich history of craftsmanship. Country walks around the village.
