(Saint-Fort-sur-Gironde) This village is located on the coastal green road of the Gironde hills. On the hillside, Saint Fort dominates the vast plain leading to the estuary. There is a little of the Gironde and the Region in the character of men and women from here. Continue to Port Michel through the Alder-lined road, a pedestrian trail runs across the channel through the marshes and offers a wide view over the estuary. A guidance table explains the topography and characteristics of the landscape. Lovers of wild nature and silence will appreciate. The strange and unusual fishing nets installed on boats in winter are intended for the very regulated pibale which runs from mid-November to March. Pibales (or glass eels) are young eel fry: Larvae from the sargasso seas date back to the Gironde estuary, very rare, they are the subject of a valuable fishery. It can be found on a few restaurant tables that border the Gironde, but the Spanish are very close to it. Fishing for sturgeon is also practised in the region, which is an emblematic fish from the region.
