Composed of 6 hamlets, the village is located at the western end of the island. Saint-Clément-des-Baleines is intimately linked to the ocean, firstly by its lighthouse, one of the most visited monuments. The northern tip of the island has seen many shipwrecks, making it necessary to build such a structure. Since the 19th century, sailors have been guided by this octagonal tower, 57 m high, built of limestone. Today, it welcomes tourists eager to discover an exceptional panorama. The village is a great getaway for travelers wishing to enjoy a moment of tranquility, especially on the beach of the Conche des Baleines.
