Meet the Neanderthal man! Saint-Césaire is best known for its Paleosite, one of the most modern prehistory centres in Europe with the discovery of the Pierrette site, a Neanderthal woman's skeleton! It is also during the First World War that the village paid a heavy price with a large number of young soldiers of the commune, victims of this conflict... This village is located between Saintes and Cognac, in the heart of the Coran valley. The Romanesque church, the fountains and wash houses, the fish farm of the Moulin neuf are among the sites to see. Have lunch at the restaurant Les Bujoliers, a nice address.
