Seaside resort located on the south-west coast of the island of Oleron, Grand-Village-Plage is a recent commune, born in 1951 from the split with Saint-Trojan. Nestled against the pine trees, it attracts travellers with its large beach of golden sand which offers an invigorating swim! The beach of La Giraudière, which has been awarded the Blue Flag label, is a treat for surfers, but it also welcomes swimmers and people with reduced mobility. Here, you can walk, cycle or take the shuttle bus to reach the seaside and the Port des Salines. This site of Échappées Nature includes an eco-museum which allows you to discover the history of the salt industry in Oléron
