Located on the south coast of the island, this former winegrowing village is also one of the oldest seaside resorts on the island of Ré. The village boasts 6 km of fine sandy beaches that are popular with summer visitors; two of them are well known to families who want to enjoy a good time: Les Gollandières, for its view of Oleron, and the beach of Gros Joncs, labeled Blue Flag and praised for its calm sea. Like all the other villages of the Retais, Bois Plage can be discovered by bike. The flowery alleys will lead you to the centre which has many shops and is the scene of the largest market on the island!
