This is the fourth stage of the World Diving Championship and the only one to take place in France. In the middle of the summer, divers are located in La Rochelle for one of the European steps. It must be said that the framework lends itself to this event with the greatest number of spectators ever seen for this World Series: more than 70 000 people! On the Old Port, there are still many spectators attending this high-flying show. After climbing the 120 steps of the St. Nicholas Tower, divers dressed by a simple bathing suit present themselves on a platform attached to the niches to make a dive for the least… vertigineux: 27 m above the vacuum! Quand il se présente, c'est un évènement sportif très attendu par bon nombre de Rochelais et pas que... A chaque fois, ce sont des dizaines de milliers de spectateurs venant de tout horizon qui se retrouvent tant époustouflés qu'émerveillés par le dépassement de soi-même auquel adhèrent les plongeurs extrêmes. En vrais conquérants, ils proposent pour le bonheur de tous des acrobaties plus difficiles les unes que les autres, sans mettre de côté l'esthétique de l'artistique, et cela d'une hauteur de 27 mètres. A voir absolument à La Rochelle ou ailleurs car chaque épreuve fait partie d'un championnat à l'étendue mondiale. Pourquoi s'en priver !? Le spectacle est de surcroît gratuit !
