The commune as it is today is the result of the reunion of three villages in 1822: Taron, Sadirac and Viellenave. Taron was a Gallo-Roman city, as evidenced by excavations that have revealed the existence of an ancient villa transformed into a cemetery in the Middle Ages. The mosaics of the 5th century are today visible in the church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In addition, a moat bears witness to the presence of fortifications from the High Middle Ages. Similarly, in Sadirac, ruins of other 12th century fortifications are reported.
