LA FÊTE DE LA MER

Every year around August 10th the port of Chapus is lit up for the Feast of the Sea. On Saturday, the evening is dedicated to music while on Sunday a tribute is paid to the sailors who died at sea. A procession takes place in the morning with a wreath laying at the stele of the "Peris en mer" and a mass. The afternoon is more festive. After tasting the regional products, sea trips are organised, various games such as sack races and jet ski baptisms. This day ends with a fireworks display followed by a ball.
