A remarkable church, masterpiece of the Romanesque art of Poitou, with rich sculpted decorations, on an ancient Gallo-Roman road.
Located on an ancient Gallo-Roman road, this church has long been a stopover for pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela. This masterpiece of Poitevin Romanesque art is remarkable for its architecture, its tombstones and its 14th century hosannary cross. One can admire the rich sculpted decorations, such as the central portal illustrating the "saintongeais sermon" and the south portal, a real jewel of this monument which is one of the four sites of Charente-Maritime registered as world heritage of humanity by Unesco.

Les sculptures du portail et les chapiteaux à l'intérieur de l'édifice sont porteurs de l'imaginaire médiéval, qui laisse rêveur le visiteur. Et l'édifice en lui même est porteur de sérénité pour ceux qui se donnent la peine d'y rester quelques instants dans le calme et le silence.
