La Maison Mansart, a charming town house crowned with mansards.
Outside the walled enclosure, the Maison d'Mansart stands on the market square. Built in the early 18th century, it was the home of wool merchant David de Fourré. This handsome Louis XIV-style townhouse, with its harmonious façade of pink Arradoy sandstone, is particularly charming. The mansards crowning the large slate roof give it its name. In 1935, the municipality of Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port acquired ownership of the building, and in the 1950s, it became the site of the town hall. Listed as a Historic Monument.
