Boulevard des Pyrenees with beautiful views of the Pyrenean mountain range dedicated entirely to walking

Along two kilometres, the boulevard des Pyrénées connects the castle of Pau with the Parc de Beaumont. Opened at the dawn of the th century, it was the place where one went to see and be seen for the European bourgeoisie. Today we see tourists and locals, but above all mountains attract attention. Indeed, the promenade offers beautiful views over the Pyrenean chain and its snow-capped peaks. Since 2009, the first Sunday of every month, the afternoon, the boulevard is entirely devoted to the promenade, without any car. Booksellers settle on sidewalks to offer additional distraction. A good initiative!
