BAYLAUCQ HOUSE
Maison Baylaucq is a haven of peace and choice cultural events
Attached to the national museum of the castle of Pau, the Baylaucq house is a haven of peace and cultural activities of choice. Exhibitions and educational workshops, in connection with the museum's collections, are programmed there. Its architecture, revealing a very rich past, unfolds in the heart of the castle's domain, which has been awarded the "Remarkable Gardens" label since 2022. Initially a house for the forest guards under the Ancien Régime, then a bathhouse in the 19th century, the establishment became a bourgeois residence until its acquisition by the State in 1999. An important collection of old books, which used to decorate the salons of the nearby castle, has recently been conserved there.
