Under the direction of Fayçal Karoui, conductor of international renown, and Frédéric Morando, its artistic director, the Orchestre de Pau has been flourishing since 2002. After 2 years' work, the former ^19th-century cattle market has become a center dedicated to promoting culture. It includes 3 cinemas (one of which is the art-house "Le Méliès"), a 580-seat auditorium and a cultural café. Its mission is to promote access to culture and artistic education in Pau.
