Eaucourt-sur-Somme is located 6 km away from Abbeville. This town is especially famous for its medieval castle, or at least what remains of it, which, watching over the right bank of the Somme was destroyed in 1420 by the duke of Burgundy shortly before the battle of Crécy-en-Ponthieu. Nevermind, a local association, L'Arche, watches over the restoration of these remains. There remains however only the door of the drawbridge, two symmetrical towers linked by a curved ribbed vault and a few wall sections, but the whole team, with faith that can move mountains, brings the place back to life. Many events and animated tours are organised in July and August on the medieval theme.
