At the heart of the historic capital of Haut-Béarn, at the confluence of the Gaves of Aspe and Ossau, this site first welcomed craft and industrial activities, including the Bedat sandals factory. Since June 2015, it allows you to become acquainted with the territory through culture, the fabulous environment, but also with monuments that add charm to this preserved and authentic living environment. Throughout the permanent exhibition, you will be immersed in the identity of the Pyrenees béarnaises through these three aspects of the Country of Art and History: its intangible heritage such as know-how, traditions or customs, the natural heritage that goes from the waters of the Fed to prestigious passes and built heritage with exceptional constructions. This site also proposes to discover the network of museums, écomusées and partners working to enhance the heritage of the Pyrenees béarnaises, and many of them! Temporary exhibitions are rhythm the year and workshops for children are also proposed.
