Close to the Channel coast, Argoules is best known for the Cistercian Abbey of Valloires, founded in the 12th century and rebuilt in the 18th century, and the Valloires gardens created in 1987 by Gilles Clément. The entire 21-hectare site is listed as a Monument Historique. The commune is also home to the Château d'Argoules, built in the 16th century and somewhat modified in the 19th century in a neo-Gothic style. A symbol of freedom, an old lime tree classified as a natural historic monument was planted in the church square just after the French Revolution.
