This former royal town, bordering Béarn, has a rich heritage from the past. In addition to its 12th-century church, Romanesque on the outside, whose interior was remodeled in the 16th century with the construction of a Gothic vault, there's a 16th-century house next to the fountain. The church is a former relay station on the route to Santiago de Compostela. The village is surrounded to the east by the Arguibelle cliff, a favorite with climbers of all levels, and to the west by Mont Bégousse, which can be hiked from Montory.
