The municipality has ruins of an 11th century fortified building. The site of this one is still clearly visible today and indicated by a cross of way. An old village, its general architecture contains traces of this past. In Moncaup you can see houses and farms from the 17th and 19th centuries, a fountain-washer from the 19th century, an old mill from the 16th century and about twenty fountains, eleven of which are visible on an 11.3 kilometre circuit.
