Rethondes is associated with the clearing of the same name and with the signing of the armistice on November 11, 1918 and, 22 years later, on June 22, 1940. It was in the village church on the eve of November 11th that Marshal Foch and General Weygand came to pay their respects and attend mass. This historic moment of recollection is now commemorated by a plaque. Visit the highly interactive and informative Espace découverte Musée Territoire 14-18, before moving on to the Clairière de l'Armistice. If you go down Rue Georges Bernard, don't miss No. 10, a typical late 19th-century craftsman's house.
