Less known than the famous «Gallic village» that it has been hosting since 1989, Plailly has been a parish site since the century. The city seems to have been chosen from the Roman era as a privileged site to build a church and give the village the quality of Vicus. It would therefore be possible to think that under the current church (Saint-Martin-de-Plailly, th century) there is another building that only archaeological excavations would confirm. The church of a rare elegance that you can admire is classified in Historical monuments since 1862. Its nave and steeple date back to the second half of the th century, while its beautiful octagonal arrow was added to the th century. Inside, the tents magnificently sculpted and decorated around 1200 are of exceptional quality. They bear witness to an obvious influence of Notre-Dame de Paris.
