Located in the north of Béarn, this commune is very close to the Landes. Collectivity of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, near Arzacq, this village is very active. Its lake of about 58 hectares is a pleasant place to walk with a fitness trail and picnic areas. Very rooted in Béarnaise traditions, the commune promotes the Occitan language, so much so that since September 2009, the public primary school has had a bilingual French-Occitan class. The section has been so successful that it was necessary to open a second class of this type in 2011. The teaching is well balanced: 12 hours in French and 12 hours in Béarnais.
