Maslacq is a village crossed by the road to Santiago de Compostela and was home to a royal earthenware factory in the 18th century. More visible, but not to be visited, is the castle of Maslacq, former residence of the family of Abbadie d'Arboucave, whose current building dates back to the 18th century, construction built on a lay abbey mentioned in the 16th century. The village has a 14th century church dedicated to St. John the Baptist, which was enlarged in the 17th, 19th and 20th centuries. Further on, the sanctuary of Muret, built in the 11th century in honour of the Holy Virgin. Although it was a place of pilgrimage for a long time, nowadays it is still very popular with all those who walk along the GR-65.
