In Clermont, there is no Puy de Dôme or volcanic stone, you are in the Oise and not in the Auvergne. You will even be in the heart of the department. In a town centre on top of a hill (the name Clermont comes from the Latin clarus mons, "clear mountain"), you will enjoy strolling around a charming town hall or the church and the keep. The small cobbled streets and the Nointel gate remind us of the medieval history of the town, which unfortunately suffered greatly during the Second World War. From the Châtellier park, under high ramparts, you have a view of the valley and the pleasant forest of Hez-Froidmont.
