Licq-Atherey has eleven neighborhoods. Four in Licq and seven in Athérey. And it's here that you'll find the famous bridge of the Laminak (fantastic beings from Basque mythology), which legend has it was never finished in time! The commune is part of the Ossau-Iraty appellation zone, and the purity of the water has led to the development of fish farming. An artisanal canner, Hoberena ("the best" in Basque), produces charcuterie, cured meats and ready-made meals, and is firmly established near the fronton. The small commune, with its nautical base, hosts kayak, canoe and rafting competitions.
