Golf d'Idron offers a 6-hole course on a 100% natural green and a 30-station driving range (8 of which are covered), as well as a driving range, wedging area and putting green. It's the ideal place to learn and practice, with the mountains as a backdrop. Private and group lessons are available for beginners, as well as for those wishing to perfect their game and obtain their license. The Idron golf course organizes friendly and federal competitions for youngsters and adults all year round. The Société d'Astronomie des Pyrénées Occidentales was founded in 1973 by Canon Henri Louyat. It has two observatories near Pau, in Saint-Castin (equipped with a 300 mm telescope), and Idron (equipped with an instrument dedicated to observing the Sun). Throughout the year, SAPO organizes conferences, free public observation evenings at the Saint-Castin site, and daytime solar observations and workshops at Idron.
