Located on the plain of Luy de Béarn, the village takes its name from two Latin words: fagus, beech, and albus, the white color. Mentioned in the 13th century under the name of Fayet Aubii and then in the 14th century under the name of Fagetum Aubii, the loss of the archives during a fire in 1800 made it difficult to study its history and the changes in its name. This village has beautiful old religious buildings, such as the 17th century Saint-Pierre-de-Mascouettes church and the San Sebastian church, the oldest parts of which date back to the Middle Ages.
