Known for the reputation of its vineyards. The rock of Saint-Luc would have been the first place of settlement of the commune. Excavations have revealed a cemetery and Gallo-Roman remains. The river Vendée which flows below the village has seen the installation of water mills: the mills of Crochet, Gachet and Sauvaget. Another curiosity is the Tabarotte fountain. The spring has always been known; a washhouse was built there in the 18th century. In the village and in the surrounding area, beautiful buildings, dwellings and castles bear witness to the prosperity of this small commune: La Groie, La Petite Groie, La Lizardière, Les Saulzes, and the Château du Poiron.
